A Message from Douglas:
In relationship with my peers and internal functions of companies with which I worked, I have always seen myself as water, filling in the gaps and solving issues. These gaps are both acute needs from the pressures of the day, and also the unseen blind spots that often are felt by others but have been difficult to identify and fill. By bringing forward these insights to others with solutions to solve them, I have always found myself championing various efforts to bring value, improve efficiency, and manage business risks.
Origin of our name, Temporal
Electricity is one of the few resources that is generated and consumed at almost the same time. Energy storage enables energy to be stored for a later time where electricity demand and supply don’t coincide in time. Additionally, energy storage can also be deployed in times of significant rises in electric load, or add load (by charging) during times of an over-abundance of renewables. In this way, battery storage is Time Travel for Energy. With all of the dynamics around integration of various energy supply resources, the alignment of supply resources to be available at the time in which load requires is a temporal problem. It is under this premise that our company is named. It is only with this flexibility to dispatch resources independently from when they were generated that we will be able to fully transition to a renewable energy economy.
